STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION
In times of an encompasing media culture and a globally extant and fissured existence of »global labor«, issues of representation and communication are central to any (re-)organization of solidarity. Questions of self-representation and self-reflective communication were always a part of the ground-breaking history of the labor-movement. The question of international solidarity has always been a quest for self-sustained forms and channels of information and communication. »Visions of Labor«, therefore, also considers new forms of representation and communication of »global labor«. Especially, we are interested in new forms and contents of image production, as we are interested in new structures of medial communication, as they grow around specific projects of re-forming a renovated and broadened labor movement. For it is precisely representation and communication that always point to – and expose – new and visionary re-positionings with in a given context.
