There are attempts to globally organize wage-earners working in the same industrial lines. This implies the building of global unions that are capable of negotiating. Only with such unions in place could workers effectively defend themselves against transnational corporations and achieve global standards.

Global Industry-Wide Organisation: UNITE!
Representatives of the british meat industry meet in Eastbourne in November 2009.
25.000 workers are represented by 50 delegates, mostly shop stewards. This conference is called "Meat Combine".
Due to their remarkable success in the national meat industry, union and shop stewards are faced with the neccessity of organizing meat industry workers worldwide, and of establishing an international "Meat Combine".
